Best Baby Travel Gear

by Danielle on November 6, 2009

in Baby Gear,Travel

The Holiday Season is upon us and that means lots of traveling! Whether it’s to your cousin’s house just a few miles away from home or Grandma’s house several hours away, having the right baby gear to keep baby happy, comfy and entertained is a must. One of the greatest things we use to bring with us to my mom’s house was a great portable Play Mat Entertainer that kept our baby entertained and created their own little space.

Also, a Pack n Play or Travel Bed is a great thing to have when needing a place to nap a baby whether it’s in a hotel room or a friend/family members home. When flying with a baby, having too much stuff can get overwhelming. Finding the right baby gear can help and keep your load on the lighter side! A great light weight stroller can be a life saver! Also having a comfort item or something that your baby is familiar with from home will help your child transition to a new environment and unfamiliar people.

Car Seat Accessories

Car Seat Accessories can make short car rides, long car rides and adventures out into the world much more entertaining and stimulating for your baby and a enjoyable experience for you.

A few things to keep in mind from personal experience:
Keep it simple with just a thing or two. – Don’t overload your babies car seat with things. First, its a huge annoyance to you when needing easy access to your baby while they are in their seat, or carrying the seat around, etc. Secondly, the baby, just like my toddlers or any other older kids, when a lot is put before them to play with, they generally lose interest a lot faster or they get overwhelmed and they too get annoyed.
Cycle toys out for new ones.- If you have several different items you’d like your baby to play with, then cycle them out. Cycling toys is one of the greatest things you can do for your baby and kids and your budget! It’s like they’re getting a new toy everytime!
Think about usage beyond just the car seat. – Believe it or not, your little bundle of joy’s time in their car seat is such a short phase. Pretty soon, they will want to grab at things, chew on things and explore things for themselves hands on. Try and find toys that can be portable to cribs, the floor, and Play Mats and Activity Centers. Also remember to sanitize them frequently!

Below, I have listed a few items that are great car seat accessories and entertainers for your baby. Anything with bright colors, lights, music, etc are all things that will help stimulate your babies brain and growth in the sensory department.
